The authentic Scottish experience: Fishermen`s Tavern
Have you ever been to one of these traditional, cosy, old-fashioned taverns which represents the true essence of Scotland? Probably your answer is “Yes”…but, what if I tell you that there is a tavern providing an authentic Scottish experience where you can also enjoy live Folk music gigs by the warmth of a fire place.
It sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, if it caught your attention, you just need to take the bus number 73 and go to Broughty Ferry, straight to Fisherman’s Tavern. You will find it easily. Despite being small, it is an incredibly cosy and friendly pub in Fort Street, close to the waterfront.
Several local musicians, women and men of all ages and musical backgrounds gather there every Thursday around 8pm to play some songs from the Irish and Scottish Celtic folklore. They bring all kinds of instruments: several types of violins, various kinds of drums, bagpipes, flutes, whistles…and sometimes even Spanish guitars!
So, we’ve got Folk musicians, a cosy old-fashioned pub and a fire place. If you add a pint of beer or a drum of whiskey to this combination, you can’t ask for more to have a fabulous time.
Definitely, it is worth to know the real Scotland, and this pub is a really good way to do it.
